Coming soon: An Outlaw loyalty program

If there's one thing we've learned by hangin' around with the rabble rousers we affectionately call our gang (I'm lookin' at you, amigo), it's that you can't get enough of the incredibly unique scents of Outlaw. It's a good thing we make such high quality stuff, are such a cool...

Pump up the Volume: Introducing volume discounts on bar soap

As you know, we're always trying to get better at how we offer our products to you, including haggling with the USPS for shipping costs (well, as best we can), giving you discounts for buying other suggested products, and now... volume discounts! When you buy more than one bar of...

Day 3 of the Journey: Las Vegas to Ash Fork

It has been a really long trip, even though I’ve only been gone 3 days. They say travel changes a person, and even saying that makes me sound like a weathered traveler. But it does. And I am changed.

My trip to Arizona!!!

OMG it's hard to believe I'm actually LEAVING tomorrow morning! Monday: Colfax, Virginia City, Bishop This is the first part of my trip. My plan in general is to go to a town first thing in the morning (or first-thing-in-the-morning as possible) and then visit all the stores before they...

Grand Soapening and the new store!

Some big news happened since the beginning of this month and I haven't said ANYTHING about it here on the blog. This is actually quite insane, but the reason is because we have been working our tails off and haven't been able to sufficiently focus on the store, the grand soapening, or even maintaining regular hours. It may surprise you to know that opening a retail store hasn't ever been a big dream of ours. But...

The Autry Museum now carries Outlaw Soaps

It's not overstating even a little bit to say that having our products in the gift shop of The Autry Museum in Los Angeles is one of the greatest honors of my life. Amazing, isn't it? Several of our gift sets are now sitting in possibly the greatest Western/cowboy museums in the world. Earlier this month, I happened to be heading down to Los Angeles to go to a taping of a show for the author of You Are A Badass, which has been a very influential book in my life. As luck would have it (luck? Or the awesomeness of friends?), a couple friends had stopped by The Autry and suggested that they carry our products.

The Weird Thing About Being Shy

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."- Nelson Mandela Yesterday, I said my social anxiety was another post for another day. Well, it's another day, and this is another post. I went to a big ol' event in San Francisco City Hall last night. Here's the photo I posted on social media: Meanwhile, this is what I sent my friend Beth in text at basically the exact same time...

Outlaw Soaps on Amazon

Because our customers are generally people who care about our business (which we very much appreciate), we periodically get questions about Outlaw Soaps on Amazon. How much money do they take? How does that work? Do you fulfill the orders that get placed through Amazon?   I personally really love Amazon and use them to shop for random stuff all the time. We even ordered a new tail light for our Element! No one can argue that they're now a fully ingrained fixture in our lives...

Customer Service is a Joint Effort (in other words, thank you for helping)

"I ordered the Whiskey Gift Set for my husband's birthday. For some reason the Post Office wasn't able to deliver it, and when I got in touch with the company to ask about what I should do Danielle responded almost right away. Before I knew it, another package was in the mail and it got to us in time. All of the extras - like the handwritten note, bumper sticker, even that weird little plastic goat - were so cute! He loved the soap and I love how helpful you were. I will definitely recommend you to others." - Elizabeth We really try hard to exceed expectations for customer service by doing things likeincluding personal notes, offering "no questions asked, no returns required" refunds for regular customers who don't like a product, and tracking down (and sometimes replacing) packages that go astray in the USPS system.   This is just...

DIY Display (or, rather, DIO - do it ourselves)

A couple weeks ago, I got a source on some amazing wine barrels for only $60 each (usually, they're lots more). I drove up to Napa and picked them up right away, because, hey! Wine barrels! Today, I did some fancy stencil work on the barrels and some crates, which you can check out here:
